Our graduates are all over the Bay Area and beyond, working to protect people from geologic hazards, to provide safe and secure water supplies, and in many other fields. We offer a number of degrees and programs in our department, including bachelor's degrees in environmental science and geology, a master's degree in environmental geoscience, a minor in geology, and degree concentrations in geoscience education and environmental health. The environmental geoscience major is an environmental science that emphasizes Earth surface processes and interdisciplinary methods. Read the complete diversity statement here! The geology major is a more traditional earth science curriculum that prepares students for a variety of geoscience careers in fields ranging from paleontology and natural disasters to energy and natural resources.
